Strategic studies in corporate document management help companies to obtain a global view on their current situation and identify the improvements that they can consider. The strategic study delivers a strategic plan comprised of small projects whose aim and order are in keeping with the expectations and capacity of absorption of the company. This plan is a “As Is – To Be” migration plan in its own right.
Today, all the departments within a company have a significant need for document management. Their demand implies projects, functionalities and even documents of various types.

A strategic study concerning document management is generally deployed in three fases:
Initial phase:
- Overview of the company’s document problems as a whole
Intermediate phase::
- Wants and needs analysis and proposal of a general conceptual model (guidelines) as well as a programme (list of the possible projects).
Last phase of the study ::
- Drawing up of the common organisational models (objects, activities, people) and design of the information and IT systems.
- Calculation of the global costs (including organisational) and the expected gains in terms of both quality and quantity (making it possible to calculate the ROI)
- Proposed general, long term action plan that will allow the company to launch these projects in a very precise conceptual and financial framework.
